PHILADELPHIA (3/26/04) -- The SJU men's tennis team captured four singles matches and the only doubles match played in a 4-2 win over city rival Temple on Friday. The victory was the fourth straight for Saint Joseph's and pushes SJU over the .500 mark with a 7-6 record.
Junior
Francisco Velazquez was a straight-set winner at #1 singles (6-2, 6-3) and sophomore
A.J. Garabedian was a 6-4, 6-1 victor at #3 singles. Junior
Van Homer Pangilinan (6-0, 6-3) and sophomore
Antonio Aniello (7-5, 6-0) both were victorious at #4 and #5 singles, respectively.
Garabedian teamed with sophomore
Jeff Olson to capture the only doubles match contested, 8-2, at the #2 spot.
