10TH-RANKED HAWKS CLOSE OUT 2003 WITH VISIT TO DELAWARE ON DEC. 30

NEWARK, DEL. (12/29/03) - The 10th-ranked Saint Joseph's Hawks make one of their shortest road trips of the season and close out 2003 with a visit to Delaware on Tuesday, December 30. Game time is 8 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center, with the contest to be televised locally by CN8. The game can also be heard on the Saint Joseph's Sports Network, on WPEN-Radio (950 AM). Click here for game notes, and streaming audio . The Hawks, coming off a 73-55 win over Pacific, are one of 13 unbeaten teams in the nation, sporting a 9-0 record. SJU will be looking to match the best start in school history, as the 1964-65 team opened the year winning 10 straight contests. For the second week in a row, Saint Joseph's was ranked 10th in both national polls, AP and ESPN/USA Today. Delaware is 6-2 after defeating Siena on Dec. 23. The Hawks will ring in the New Year with the Atlantic 10 Conference opener on Saturday, Jan. 3 versus George Washington. The noon contest will be aired on the Atlantic 10 Television Network and seen regionally on Comcast Sportsnet.
