Delonte West has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the week ending December 13. West continues the Hawk string of conference honorees as backcourt mate
Jameer Nelson earned the top player award for the first three weeks of the season.
West, a junior guard, scored 27 points as the 12th-ranked Hawks handed Boston College its first loss of the season, 67-57, in the only game last week. West scored 15 points in the second half and had eight in a stretch which saw SJU increase a 36-31 lead to 47-35. The junior added nine rebounds and five assists.
West is the team's second leading scorer and rebounder, with averages of 19.1 points per game and 5.1 rebounds. He is shooting 50 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from 3-point range.
It marks the third time in his career that West has earned the conference's weekly player award.
The Hawks go on the road to face California in the Pete Newell Challenge on Saturday, December 20 at the The Arena in Oakland, CA. Game time is 11 p.m. EST.
