FLUSHING, NY (10/04/03) -- Saint Joseph's played its best match of the three-day ECAC Championships, which featured the top 16 teams on the east coast, but fell to 11th-seeded Boston College, 4-3, on Sunday. SJU received wins from sophomores
Chris Spencer,
Antonio Aniello and
A.J. Garabedian but it wasn't enought to upset the Eagles.
"The guys got better everyday," assistant coach Gene Miller said. "It was a great tournament for us, a great experience."
Spencer was a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 winner at second singles, while Aniello followed with a 6-3, 7-5 win at third singles. Garabedian won in a thriller, 6-4, 4-6, (10-8) at fourth singles.
SJU was unable to capture the doubles point.
