HAWK WOMEN SIGN GOMEZ TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

PHILADELPHIA (11/19/03) - Timisha Gomez, a two-time honorable mention All-American by Street and Smith's, has signed a national letter intent to play women's basketball at Saint Joseph's, third-year head coach Cindy Griffin announced today. Gomez, a combo guard from Long Reach High School in Maryland, averaged 17 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists per game as a junior. A native of Elkridge, Md., Gomez has already amassed 1,205 points though three seasons. "Timisha is a very talented combination guard who can shoot, drive and pull up," Griffin said. "She will add quickness and scoring to our backcourt, which will allow us to give several different offensive and defensive looks." Standing 5'8", she was a first team all-county selection by the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun and was a three-time team MVP for head coach Kevin Broadus.
