ANNAPOLIS, MD (02/15/03) - Freshman Jimmy Holland was the only winner as the Hawks dropped to 2-2 in men's tennis action with today's 6-1 loss at Navy. The Mids improved to 4-3 with the win. Holland was a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 victor at second singles to improve to 12-4 on the year. Another rookie, A.J. Garabedian, took his match to three sets at #6 singles, but fell 5-7, 7-5, 6-2. All three doubles contests were close. Garabedian and Holland teamed up at #1 and fell 9-7, as did sophomores Francisco Velazquez and Van Homer Pangilinan. Freshmen Antonio Aniello and Greg Chang dropped their #3 doubles match, 8-6. SJU returns to action Sunday, February 16, when they travel to Swarthmore.
