PHILADELPHIA (11/05/02) - For the fourth straight year all six area Division I men's basketball teams will practice on the floor of the Palestra in an effort to battle one common opponent - Cancer. The Philadelphia-area teams, which as a group have raised over $185,000 since joining together as part of a nationwide Coaches vs. Cancer effort, will practice for 45 minutes each starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 9, with each team holding a 15-minute autograph session following their workout. Admission to the event is free, but fans attending are asked to contribute money in the fight against cancer. Drexel University will be the first team taking the court, followed by La Salle University (noon), Temple University (1:00 p.m.), Saint Joseph's University (2:00 p.m.), Villanova University (3:00 p.m.) and the University of Pennsylvania (3:00 p.m.). - sju -
