RICHMOND, VA - The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team lost their second game in a row as Richmond downed the Hawks 66-41 Sunday afternoon at the Robins Center.

The game was even over the opening 10 minutes as Saint Joseph's and Richmond played to a 10-10 tie.

From there, Richmond went on a 12-0 run from 9:26 to 4:04. The Spiders Christina Campion accounted for six of those points.

Saint Joseph's would answer, cutting the deficit to six, 22-16, on back-to-back three pointers from junior guard Christine Roth.

The Spiders would outscore the Hawks 8-2 over the final 2:30 to take a 30-18 lead into the half.

In the second half, Richmond continued to open their lead to as many as 25, with Saint Joseph's coming as close as 13, 37-24.

For the game, the Hawks shot 28.3 percent (13-46), while Richmond finished 26-54 for 48.1 percent. The Spiders also held a 40-24 rebound advantage.

Sophomore Whitney Ffrench led the Hawks in scoring with 12 points, while junior Faith Schutte chipped in 10 points.

Richmond senior Kate Flavin posted a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds, as Campion added 14 points.

With the loss, the Hawks fall to 4-16 overall and 2-6 in Atlantic 10 play. The Spiders improve to 16-3 and 7-2 with the victory.

Saint Joseph's returns to action Friday when it hosts Fordham at 7 p.m.
