The Saint Joseph's golf team finished is tied for sixth place after Saturday's opening round of the Georgetown Hoya Invitational.
The Hawks posted an 11-over par 299 yesterday at the Landsdowne Golf Club (par-72). Eastern Michigan leads the 12-team field after an opening-round 288.
Individually, senior Billy Stewart is tied for 11th after posting a one-over-par 73. Senior Sean Seese and sophomore Colin Corrigan are two strokes behind, tied for 25th at 75. Junior Phil Arouca shot 76, while classmate Ryan McCarty posted a 77. Playing as an individual, sophomore Ryan Barnett finished with a 91 in the opening round.
Eastern Michigan's Graham Hill stands atop the leaderboard after posting a five-under-par 67.
The final round of the Hoya Invitational will commence Sunday morning.
