Hawks Place Second at Joe Agee Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Saint Joseph's golf team finished second of 12 teams at the Joe Agee Invitational after shooting a final-round one-over-par 289 at the Two Rivers Country Club (par-72) on Monday.

The Hawks, who entered today's final round tied for second with Old Dominion at 581, beat out the Monarchs by one stroke to finish second overall at 870. Saint Joseph's finished five strokes behind Atlantic 10 rival and tournament winner George Washington (865).

Individually, senior Billy Stewart and sophomore Colin Corrigan tied for seventh overall at 215. Stewart posted a one-under-par 71-73-71/215 today, while Corrigan finished with a 71-71-73/215. The duo finished five strokes behind medalist Brian Carroll (210) of George Washington.

Senior Sean Seese finished in a tie for 15th with a three-round score of 75-71-72/218, while junior Phil Arouca tied for 27th at 72-78-73/223. Junior Ryan McCarty rounded out the five-man squad with a three-round total of 74-78-74/226.

Saint Joseph's returns to action next Monday and Tuesday, October 10-11, at the Xavier Invitational.
