All three Saint Joseph's men's crews reached the finals at the 2005 IRA Regatta on the Cooper River highlighted by a sixth place national finish by the Varsity 4. Both the Freshman 4 and JV8 advanced to the Third Level Finals.
The Varsity 4 advanced to Saturday's Grand Final after placing second in its semifinal race behind Hobart and turning in the second fastest time of the day (7:05.15). SJU bested Navy, Wisconsin, Harvard and Temple.
The Hawks placed sixth in a fast Grand Final, placing behind Stanford, Rutgers, Hobart, Army and Navy to place sixth nationally in a time of 6:42.58.
The Freshman 4 picked up a win in the Third Level Final, topping Syracuse, Georgetown, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Boston Univerity. SJU reached the finals by placing second in Friday's semifinal in a time of 7:21.23.
The Second Varsity 8 placed Second in its Third Level Final. The Hawks finished behind Michigan with a time of 6:13.12.
