The Saint Joseph's golf team placed fifth out of 25 teams at the George Washington Invitational last Friday and Saturday at Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club (par-72).
The Hawks posted a two-round total of 298-304/602, good for fifth place. Saint Joseph's finished behind invitational winner Penn (592) and runners up
Delaware (593), Villanova (596) and Liberty (598).
Individually, senior Billy Stewart led the way, posting a 72-73/145 to tie for fourth place. Classmate Sean Seese tied for 27th with a score of 75-76/151, while junior Phil Arouca tied for 41st after posting a 76-77/153. Sophomore Colin Corrigan posted a 75-81/156, while junior Ryan McCarty shot a 79-78/157. Sophomore Bob Cunningham posted an 84-79/163.
Seton Hall's Kyle Morris earned medalist honors, posting a 68-72/140.
The Hawks return to action April 10-11 at the St. Mary's Invitational in Monterrey, California.
