The Saint Joseph's golf team posted a final-round 325 at the St. Mary's/Merrill Lynch Invitational Tuesday, placing 17th in the field of 19.
As a team, the Hawks shot a three-round score of 309-325-325/959 at Poppy Hills Golf Club (Par 72). Lamar won the team title posting a 297 on Tuesday for a three-round score of 891, downing second-place Xavier by one stroke (892).
Individually, senior Billy Stewart was the low man for the Hawks, finishing tied for 62nd with a three-round score of 76-78-82/236. Junior Phil Arouca finished one stroke behind Stewart, posting a 74-78-85/237 to earn a tie for 65th place. Junior Ryan McCarty and senior Sean Seese posted the low rounds on Tuesday for Saint Joseph's as the duo each carded 79s. McCarty finished the invitational with a score of 75-87-79/241, while Seese shot 84-83-79/246. Sophomore Colin Corrigan rounded out the five-man squad, posting a three-round score of 87-86-87/260.
Fresno State's Jason Anthony won medalist honors, posting a score of 70-73-75/218.
The Hawks return to action Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23, at the Penn State Rutherford Invitational.
