Playing through cold weather and wet conditions, the Saint Joseph's golf team placed 13th out of the 15-team field at the Penn State Rutherford Intercollegiate Invitational this past weekend.
As a team, the Hawks posted a three-round score of 319-310-301/930 as Eastern Michigan won the team title with a score of 892.
Individually, sophomore Colin Corrigan paced Saint Joseph's, posting a score of 76-76-76/231 to tie for 35th place. Junior Ryan McCarty tied for 49th with a score of 79-81-74/234, while senior Billy Stewart (Devon, PA/Malvern Prep) finished a stroke behind at 80-75-80/235. Junior Phil Arouca finished with a three-round score of 81-78-76/235, while senior Sean Seese rounded out the five-man squad with a score of 86-81-75/242.
Eastern Michigan's Korey Mahoney won medalist honors after posting a three-round score of 215.
The Hawks return to action Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30, at the Firestone Intercollegiate Invitational.
