Hawks' Tennis Earns Four Wins at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, MD - In the first day of competition, the Hawks took on Maryland, earning three singles wins and one doubles, at the Navy Invitational taking place this weekend in Annapolis, Maryland.

Freshman Jarrett Chirico opened the tournament with a defeat over Louis Lavalle of Maryland going 6-4, 6-0. Sophomore Pat Adams defeated Boris Fetbroyt, 6-4, 6-4 in the third flight while classmate Phil Bayliss beat Aaron Carr 6-3,6-4 in the fourth flight.

The Hawks also earned a doubles win with Bayliss and Chirico teaming up at First Doubles against Fink and Lacalle to win 9-8 (7). Junior Phil Garbedian competed in the second doubles match with Adams as they took on Carr and Ferbroyt, losing 8-2.

Freshman Matt Glasgow, playing in the second flight, lost to Scott Fink with marks of 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-1. Freshman Nick Tuxen also saw action competing in the fifth flight against John O'Rourke. Tuxen lost, going 6-1, 3-6, 10-7.

Tomorrow the Hawks are scheduled to take on players from the host team Navy at 9:00am. There is no team scoring for this weekend's tournament.
