Charlotte used two second-half goals to defeat Saint Joseph's, 3-1, in Atlantic 10 men's soccer action. The loss drops the Hawks to 5-10-1 and 4-3 in the conference. Charlotte is now 11-5-1 and 5-2-1 in the A-10.
Adam Gross put the 49ers on the board in the 36th minute, when he beat SJU keeper Bryan Benedict in the left corner.
Th home team went ahead 2-0 when Gross sent a corner to Andres Cuero, who converted in the 54th minute.
The Hawks got on the board just two minutes later when freshman Colin Baker converted a penalty kick for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Cuero added another for Charlotte in the 85th minute to preserve the win.
Benedict made seven saves for the Hawks, which were outshot, 16-10.
Saint Joseph's ends the regular season at home next weekend with a pair of A-10 games. Massachusetts visits on Friday night and Rhode Island meets the Hawks on Sunday.
