PHILADELPHIA -
The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team captured the Freshman 8 at the Bergen Cup on the Schuylkill River on April 28. It was the second straight win for the Hawks' frosh as they captured their race at the previous week's SIRA Championship.
The Hawks won by a considerable distance in a very confident and controlled race.
The Lightweight 8 also put forth a tremendous effort finishing a strong second place in an aggressive 2k coming in just two seconds behind Temple.
The Men's Varsity 8 ended up finishing second after Temple was disqualified, giving Drexel the 2007 Bergen Cup. La Salle was third. The Freshman 4 took second place in their race, ahead of Villanova and Penn.
The Hawks are back in action on Friday and Saturday May 11 and 12 at
the Dad Vail Regatta.
