Men's Soccer Falls to Rhode Island, 3-0

Kingston, R.I. - The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team to fell to Rhode Island, 3-0, despite freshman goalkeeper Andrew D'Ottavi's efforts in net with 10 saves in Friday night's match at the URI Soccer Complex.

Scoring began six minutes into the game when Ram's Dwayne Williams volleyed a ball into the net off a long throw-in from Michael Tanke. The teams played a scoreless rest of the half, with URI holding an 11-6 edge in shots and a 1-0 lead going into the second half.

URI upped the lead to 2-0, only 29 seconds into the second half, when Ram's Greg Balicki put a ball into the net from the six-yard box. At the 88:37 minute mark URI's Andres Ruiz picked up a loose ball at the top of the box for another goal, sealing the win at 3-0 for the Rams.

D'Ottavi's 10 saves on the night gives him 68 saves on the season and a .723 saving percentage.

The Hawks travel to Massachusetts on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. match against the Minutemen.
