The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team lost to Duquesne, 4-0 on Friday night at Finnesey Field.
Duquesne got on the board in the 11th minute when Hawks' keeper Andrew D'Ottavi punched a ball out of the box where Dukes' Derek Patrizio blasted a ball past D'Ottavi from 25 yards out. The Dukes would go into the second half with 10-2 edge in shots and a 1-0 lead.
The Dukes went ahead by two just under three minutes into the second half when Joshua Patterson went one-on-one with D'Ottavi, knocking the ball into the right corner of the net. At the 82:44 mark Duquesne's Jared Gentile sent a corner in to the top of the 18 where Brendan Duffy one-touched a ball into the back of the net. The Dukes added one more with 1:35 left to play for a 4-0 final.
D'Ottavi made four saves in net for Saint Joseph's while SJU defense pulled the Dukes offsides six times on the night.
The Hawks host St. Bonaventure on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Finnesey Field.
