Three Saint Joseph's men's tennis players - senior Michael Stauble and sophomores Peter Cognetti and Jeff Kessler - saw their runs at the 2009 ITA Regionals come to an end on Friday afternoon.
Cognetti and Kessler reached the round of 16 before falling late on Friday to fourth-seeded Keziel Juneau and Sebastien Vidal of William and Mary, 8-2. Juneau and Vidal are still in the draw, advancing to Sunday's semifinals.
Juneau, the sixth seed in the singles draw, also eliminated Stauble in the second round of that competition, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Kessler fell in the second round as well, dropping his match 6-2, 6-3 to fourth-seeded Houston Barrick of the University of Virginia.
