Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team fell to Saint Louis, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon as it honored four graduating seniors - Bryan Benedict (Annandale, Va./Bishop O'Connell), Joe Fluehr (Cape Coral, Fla./La Salle), Travis Gast (Upper Dublin, Pa./Upper Dublin), and Jason Lewis (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) - at Finnesey Field.

Saint Louis got on the board at the 22:28 mark when Billikens' Alex Sweetin sent a corner kick into a scuffle where the ball would bounce of a Saint Joseph's player for a 1-0 Saint Louis lead at the half.

The Billikens added another goal in the 55th minute when SLU's Mike Roach chested a loose ball into the net. Saint Louis would hold onto the 2-0 lead and Billikens' Beau Bellomy made it 3-0 with four seconds left. Bellomy took a shot from the right side that keeper Andrew D'Ottavi (Petersburg, N.J./Ocean City) got his hands on but the ball wouldn't roll wide enough.

D'Ottavi made four saves while Benedict had two for a combined six saves on the afternoon.

With the win, Saint Louis is 12-6-0 overall and 7-2-0 Atlantic 10 and is ranked second in the conference just below Dayton (8-1-0).
