PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team stumbles to a 2-5 overall record after falling to Monmouth, 10-7, in Sunday afternoon's overtime thriller at Finnesey Field. Alana Glanell dished four assists for the Hawks while Grace Dinn added three goals.

Monmouth (1-5) scored four straight goals, tying and sending the game into overtime, taking the win in the first OT period and adding cushion to their lead with two more goals for their first win of the season.

Monmouth put the first point on the board and took a 2-0 lead with two free-position goals in the first four minutes of play. At the 22:58 mark Glanell set Dinn up for her first of her three goals in the first half, but Monmouth's Kirsty Urbas struck back 30 seconds later making it 3-1.

Saint Joseph's then converted three free-position shots, one from Jenna Martino and two from Dinn to knot the game and take the lead at 4-3. Freshman Gwen Nihill gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead and after a MU goal Jen Peters maintained the lead, driving one in with just one second on the clock for a 6-4 SJU lead at the break.

The MU Hawks scored two free-position goals in the second half to tie it up at 6-6 with 12:38 to go. Peters added her second goal two minutes later and then MU's Olivia Salata scored the game-tying goal with 3:53 left to send the game into OT.

MU's Shawn Evans scored the game-winner with 1:37 to go in the first OT, while teammate Carissa Franzi netted a goal with 12 seconds remaining. Monmouth's Ali Pollock scored her third goal on the night at the 1:19 mark for a 10-7 MU victory.

Senior goalkeeper Kaitlin LaBarbera made seven saves in net for the Hawks in her first appearance in net this season.
