Radnor, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team fell to Villanova, 3-0, at the Villanova Soccer Complex on Wednesday evening. Wildcats' Kevin Garcia notched two early goals to give Villanova (4-2-1) a 2-0 lead just 17:43 into the match.

At the 1:28 mark, Garcia sent a free kick past SJU goalkeeper Yiannys Degermentzidis into the right side of the net for the first goal.

Villanova outshot the Hawks, 10-6, in the first half and took eight of the game's first nine shots. The second goal came when Garcia blasted another ball into the net which deflected off a Hawk defender.

Senior Colin Baker attacked late in the first half with two shots and sent three corner kicks into the box which led to three more SJU shot attempts.

In the second half, the Wildcats had an 11-3 edge in shots and took advantage of a free kick attempt late in the game to seal the win. Villanova's freshman defender William Cason sent the free kick past Hawks' goalkeeper Michael Moulton for his first career goal.

Degermentzidis (five) and Moulton (six) combined for 11 saves in net on the evening.

Saint Joseph's returns to action when it hosts Iona on Saturday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Finnesey Field.
