Men's Soccer Falls to Penn, 5-1

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Saint Joseph's men's soccer fell to Penn, 5-1. Jake Nelson scored the lone goal for the Hawks with the assist to Brendan Reilly. Goalkeeper Michael Moulton added a season high 10 saves against the Quakers. SJU drops to 0-2 on the season.

The game started off on a good note for the Hawks when nelson gave SJU an early lead 1-0 at 19:00.

Saint Joseph's had opportunities to take advantage but again could not capitalize.

Penn was able to counter Nelson's goal when Agyeman Botchway put one in net at 42:00. Shortly after, Nick Unger registered a goal at 44:00 taking a one goal advantage heading into halftime.

The Quakers were able to add three goals in the second half to put the Hawks away. Two goals by Duke Lacroix, and one by Bryan Yasukochi sealed the victory for Penn.

The Hawks return to action on Sunday, September 11, when they travel to Towson to take on the Tigers. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
