Tim Lazorko Nabs Second Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week Honors

Oct. 24, 2012

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman midfielder Tim Lazorko has been named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week for games played during the week of Oct. 15-21. This marks Lazorko's second time receiving Soccer Six honors as he was also tagged Rookie of the Week on October 1.

Lazorko scored the only goal of the weekend for the Hawks as an equalizer in the 78th minute against Atlantic 10 opponent Butler (Oct. 21). The freshman standout made a quick step to his left and fired a shot into the lower-left side of the net to record his team-leading fifth goal of the season. The goal came off of an assist by junior midfielder Jimmy Reilly.

Starting and playing in 14 of 15 games for Saint Joseph's, Lazorko leads the Hawks in total points (14), goals (five), and assists (four).

"Tim has been working hard and has progressively gotten better throughout the season and I am happy to see him getting recognized for his contributions in the previous matches," said head coach Don D'Ambra. "I believe that if Tim continues to work hard, he will be a big part our our rebuilding process in years to come."

The Hawks will round out their final three games of the regular season on the road, starting with La Salle on Friday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m.
