Two Hawks Earn Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Postseason Honors

Nov. 7, 2012

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Two Saint Joseph's men's soccer players earned Atlantic 10 postseason honors, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Tim Brennan took home All-Academic honors for the second straight year while freshman midfielder Tim Lazorko was voted to the All-Rookie team.

Brennan started all 18 games for the Hawks in his final season, playing in his 69th consecutive game against Temple on November 3. The senior captain netted his first collegiate goal in a 3-0 win over Rider on September 15 and was named to the 2012 University of Kentucky All-Tournament team. The epitome of a student-athlete, Brennan made the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for six consecutive semesters. An All-Academic honoree last season as well, Brennan becomes the first player to earn back-to-back All-Academic nods in nearly a decade.

In his freshman debut on Hawk Hill, Lazorko led Saint Joseph's in assists (five), points (15), and shots (46) while tying for a team-best in goals (five) and shots on goal (20). The All-Rookie selection started and played in all but one game in his debut season en route to being named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week (10/1) and Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week twice (10/1, 10/21). The rookie sensation proved to be a vital threat for the Hawks' offense as he tallied at least one point in all five of SJU's win this season, highlighted by his first career point on a game-winning assist over Hartwick on opening day (8/24) and his first collegiate goal on a game-winner over Bucknell on September 25.
