Final Stats

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team defeated Presbyterian at Finnesey Field, 17-3, on Wednesday afternoon. Abby Ananian, Grace Dinn and Julie Mineweaser scored three goals apiece to lead SJU to its third victory if the season.

Mineweaser got the Hawks on the board first, 90 seconds in to the game while Dinn added a second goal at 26:51. The Blue Hose would come back with a goal of their own but an 8-1 run, started by Ananian, Val Paolucci and Jen Peters would put the game out of reach. To end the first frame, Maggie Mauer added her first goal of the season with 1:45 to play.

The second half was much like the first for Saint Joseph's. The Hawks added seven more goals to close out the game as Hallie Pickard netted her first goal as a Hawk off of a free position shot.

Carly Kindbom scored two goals on the afternoon while Paolucci would end the day with two goals and three assists.

Alisha Aquilino made 10 saves between the pipes and Nora McGeever came in to make two more.

The Hawks outshot Presbyterian, 32-17, and led in 14-8 in draw controls.

Saint Joseph's will return to action on Sunday when it hits the road to play Saint Francis (Pa.) for a noon game.
