Saint Joseph's junior Alex Veronis was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning. In addition, Veronis was also tabbed for the league's All-Academic squad.
It is the second consecutive Second Team nod for Veronis, who was honored by the league last season as well.
After studying abroad for the fall semester, Veronis returned to the Hawk lineup in the spring and occupied the first singles position. He garnered nine wins, including three against the top singles players in the Atlantic 10.
Veronis also posted a 14-6 record in doubles play, including marks of 3-2 in the second flight and 11-4 in the third flight. He also won seven of 10 doubles matches against league opposition.
The junior tied for the team lead in combined victories with 23 across singles and doubles play, and his 10 wins against Atlantic 10 opposition was the top mark on the squad.
A member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Veronis was named to the league's All-Academic team for the first time.
