The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team fell to Niagara by a 5-2 score on Saturday afternoon. Juniors Alex Veronis and Tommy Gates earned singles victories to provide the Hawk points.
Veronis was a winner in the first flight, toppling Niagara's Joseph Zelic, 6-2, 6-1, while Gates blitzed past Brandon Gallegos, 6-0, 6-0, in the third.
Freshmen Max Montague and Pierre Brondeau took their fifth- and sixth-flight matches the distance, but both ultimately fell in three sets.
The Hawks will finish their swing through western New York on Sunday with a match at St. Bonaventure.
