D'Ottavi Named Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week

Sept. 17, 2012

PHILADELPHIA - Senior goalkeeper Andrew D'Ottavi has been named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week as he registered his first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Rider on Saturday, September 15. D'Ottavi made four saves in the victory.

Saint Joseph's had D'Ottavi in net to preserve the shutout but got its offense from sophomore Alex Critzos, who scored two goals including the game winner, and senior Tim Brennan, who notched the first goal of his career.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Saint Joseph's and helped the Hawks match their season win total from 2011. D'Ottavi, who also won this award in September of 2009, has started and played in all six games for the Hawks this season. The senior captain ranks fifth in the Soccer Six standings with both a 1.98 goals allowed average and a .670 saves percentage.

The Hawks hit the road this Saturday, September 22, as they travel to Cornell for a 4:00 p.m. match.
