MERION STATION, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team dominated its match against St. Francis (N.Y.) Saturday afternoon as the Hawks topped the Terriers, 7-0. Winning all nine matches, SJU dropped only seven games en route to improving to 11-10 on the season.
Opening with doubles matches, the Hawks took control early as they took all three flights. At the first flight, Casey Robinson and Nicole Esposito teamed for an 8-5 win, while Jenna Procyk and Anne Marie Devlin teamed for an 8-2 win at the second flight. Devi Jadeja and Michele Vonacapped the doubles sweep with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Switching to singles competition, Saint Joseph's was perfect on the day, winning all six matches in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Robinson was the a winner at the first flight, while Aurora Davis earned a win at No. 2 singles. Kristina Eisenbrandposted a win at the third flight with Polatnick posting a win at the fourth flight. Esposito and Devlin capped the shutout win with wins at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
The Hawks return to action Sunday when they host Rhode Island.
