PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team ended its 2012-13 season at the 75th annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta.
The regatta featured a record 128 colleges and universities and the Hawks entered three boats - Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4.
The Varsity 8 placed fourth in its heat to move into the repechage. From there, the Hawks again placed fourth and fell short of the semifinals. The lineup was: c- Myra McCann, 8- Brittany Roth, 7- Taylor Biesiada, 6- Amanda McEvoy, 5- Taylor Mason, 4- Angeline Nocella, 3- Alexa Lawson, 2- Delaney McGuire, 1- Gabriella Parker.
SJU's Second Varsity 8 missed a berth in the final when it placed third in its heat with a time of 7:18.1, as only two teams advanced to the final. The Hawks' lineup was: c- Katie Messina, 8- Maura Mahoney, 7- Maggie Mueller, 6- Nicola O'Donnell, 5- Emily Coldren, 4- Katherine Killeen, 3- Angela Smith, 2- Elizabeth Parker, 1- Jill Perkins.
Saint Joseph's Varsity 4 placed fourth in its heat, just missing a spot in the semifinals, with a lineup of: c- Angelica Italiano, 4- Aleena Yobbi, 3- Kelly Rupert, 2- Megan Michaels, 1- Claire Tedesco.
The Hawks saw three student-athletes graduate this year - Jenni Broring, Katie Messina and Gabriella Parker - while graduate student Brittany Roth completed her eligibility.
