PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -
The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team finished seventh in the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championships held at the Cooper River. Rhode Island took the team title and earned the league's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
The Hawks did not medal in the meet and the Varsity 8 placed sixth in its race, clocking a 7:31.88. George Washington captured that race. SJU's lineup was: c- Katie Messina, 8- Brittany Roth, 7- Taylor Biesiada, 6- Angeline Nocella, 5- Taylor Mason, 4- Amanda McEvoy, 3- Gabriella Parker, 2- Alexa Lawson, 1- Nicola O'Donnell.
Saint Joseph's finished second to Fordham in the Varsity 4 Petite Final. The Hawks' lineup was: c- Mary Kate Gibbons, 4- Katie Comerer, 3- Aleena Yobbi, 2- Claire Tedesco, 1- Megan Michaels.
SJU's Second Varsity 8 also placed second to the Rams in the Petite Final with a boat consisting of: c- Myra McCann, 8- Delaney McGuire, 7- Jill Perkins; 6- Maura Mahoney, 5- Maggie Mueller, 4- Angela Smith, 3- Emily Coldren, 2- Elizabeth Parker, 1- Katherine Killeen.
The Hawks will close out the season on May 10-11 at the 75th Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
