Saint Joseph's defeated Penn, 6-3, at Citizens Bank Park on April 17 to claim the program's first Liberty Bell Class championship. Anthony Cirillo, Greg Kumpel, and Fritz Hamburg spoke to SJUHawks.com after the game.

The Saint Joseph's baseball team opened its new home field with a 5-1 win over Iona on March 9, 2012.
2012: Started 48 games at shortstop, appearing in 51 in total...Hit first career home run in loss to Lehigh on March 20...Tied program record for assists in a game when he threw out nine runners against Massachusetts on April 14...Went 2-for-3 with a run scored and three runs batted in as Saint Joseph's won its first-ever Liberty Bell Classic championship on April 17...Hit a two-out double in the top of the 9th inning to give the Hawks a lead against Dayton in the Atlantic 10 Tournament on May 24.
2011: Played in 50 games, making 47 starts, all at shortstop...Set a new single-season SJU record with 148 assists, breaking a record that stood for over two decades on the final out of the season finale against Richmond on May 21...Led the squad in hit by pitches, getting plunked 11 times...Drove in five runs, tied for the highest mark by a Hawk this season, in the 11-10 win at Texas-San Antonio on February 25...Tied a program record with nine assists in the game at Delaware on March 2...Scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth as SJU defeated Temple, 4-3, on April 6...Hit safely in seven straight games from April 2 to April 13.
2010: Made 18 appearances, including six starts... Went 1-for-2 against archrival Villanova on April 28 before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
High School: Two-time All-Conference and Star-Ledger Gold Glove honoree...As a senior, was named Second Team All-Shore as well as All-Non-Public and All-Monmouth County...Hit .409 as a junior and upped his average to .412 as a senior...Team reached state championship game his final two seasons, winning the title his senior year...One of just three players in school history to start as a freshman...Played alongside current Saint Joseph's teammate Jimmy Yacabonis.
