Paul Mullin Profile


Paul Mullin is in his fifth year as Assistant Coach for SJU men's rowing, having spent the previous three seasons working with the team's Varsity Lightweight 8. In his first season with the Hawks, Mullin guided the Men's Freshman Lightweight 8 to Dad Vail gold. In 2004 with the Varsity Lightweight, 8 Mullin led SJU to a Dad Vail bronze medal, the first SJU medal in the Lightweight 8 since the Henley Crew of 1999. The team returned and claimed bronze again in 2005.

A 1997 graduate of Rutgers University Mullin coxed for both the Varsity Heavyweight 8 and Varsity Lightweight 8. He earned honors as a Scarlet Knight as a President's Award winner (1997) and Scholar Athlete (1996-1997). Mullin participated with the US Junior National Team in 1992 and won silver in the men's 8 at the 1995 US Olympic Festival in Boulder, CO. He began his coaching career at St, Joseph's Prep where he was a volunteer teacher and coach as a member of the Alumni Service Corps in 1997-1998. Mullin was then invited back to Rutgers as Assistant Varsity Lightweight coach in 1998-1999 before heading to California for graduate studies in neuropsychology (MA, 2001) and philosophy of religion at Fuller Theological Seminary.

In addition to his part-time coaching responsibilities with SJU Mullin works full-time as the Assessment & Development Specialist with the John Templeton Foundation in Radnor, PA.
