The Hawks would not allow that lead to remain for very long. Just 48 seconds later, Colville gained possession inside the box on a dish from senior forward Mike Glazer and fired off an equalizer into the bottom-left corner. Colville's third goal of the season evened out the scoring, 1-1, at 48:16.
SJU maintained offensive pressure from that point, as the Hawks took a pair of shots and earned a trio of corner kicks within five minutes of one another. On that third corner kick, Colville launched the ball into the box, and Nelson headed it into the back of the net to put the Hawks up, 2-1.
St. Bonaventure took advantage of an SJU red card in the 78th minute and fired off three consecutive shots on goal in a span of 51 seconds. However, Edwards (5-4-4, 2-3-1 A-10) made all three saves, and added another in the 85th minute, for six total saves in the full-match effort.
