PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team (3-4) returns home from a three-game road slate this weekend to host Campbell (3-2)* on Sunday, March 23. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field. Live streaming of all home games is available on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network via a subscription to Hawks All-Access.
Campbell will first play at George Mason on Friday evening in a 7:00 p.m. game.
Sophomore attack Emily Bowers leads the squad on the offensive end with 24 points on eight goals and a team-best 16 assists while junior midfielder Julia Falcone has tallied a team-best 16 goals – with nine coming in the last two games combined – on 22 total shots for a team-best .727 shot percentage heading into Sunday. Senior attack Val Paolucci (12G, 4A), junior midfielder Hannah Hutchins (9G, 4A), and freshman attack Nora McCallion (5G, 6A) have also been consistent in SJU's scoring efforts.
Senior defenders Brittany Hanrahan and Allison Heath have combined for 40 ground balls, 24 draw controls, and 19 caused turnovers through seven games while classmate Kaitlyn McSwiggan has caused a team-high 12 turnovers. The Atlantic 10 Co-Defender of the Week, Heath is the only Hawks to boast double digits in ground balls, draw controls, and caused turnovers (11). Sophomore goalkeeper Genevieve Giblin (3-4) sports a 10.16 goals-against average and .455 save percentage in 395:39.
SCOUTING CAMPBELL
The Camels enter Friday evening's game against George Mason with a three-game win streak. Campbell downed Kennesaw St. (15-8), St. Francis Pa. (12-8) and Elon (11-8) to go 3-0 through the month of March at this point. The Camels play at George Mason on Friday evening in Fairfax, Va. Loren Day (14G, 3A), Taelar Errington (10G), Erica Hitch (9G, 4A) lead Campbell in scoring. Brittay Kincer (3-2) sports a 10.50 goals-against average and .440 save percentage in 240:00.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE FIGHTING CAMELS
The Hawks are 1-0 all-time against the Fighting Camels having defeated Campbell, 9-1, on March 5 of last season. Attacks Abby Ananian (2G, 1A), Bianca Angstadt (2G), and Val Paolucci (1G), and midfielders Julia Falcone (1G) and Michele Granger (1G) contributed offensively while goalkeeper Genevieve Giblin made two saves in the win. The defensive unit of Brittany Hanrahan, Allison Heath, Kaitlyn McSwiggan, and recent graduate Alexa Matthews kept Campbell to just five shots for the entire game.

Junior midfielder Julia Falcone recorded a career-high five goals and senior attack Val Paolucci added three goals and an assist but Saint Joseph's ultimately fell at Old Dominion, 18-11, on Sunday, March 16 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex in Norfolk, Va. Paolucci led the way in the opening 30:00 as she tallied all three of her goals in the first half while Falcone netted four of her five tallies in the final 30:00. The duo also combined for 19 of SJU's 29 total shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Genevieve Giblin made five saves and added three ground balls in a full-game effort for the Crimson and Gray.
MILESTONE WATCH: PAOLUCCI, BOWERS
Senior attack Val Paolucci is just three points shy of 100 for her career as the senior standout owns 97 career points on 72 goals and 25 assists entering Sunday's game against Campbell. Additionally, Paolucci's 25 career assists set her just four helpers shy of cracking SJU's all-time career assists list. Thanks in part to her school-recording breaking performance of seven assists against Delaware State, sophomore attack Emily Bowers owns 16 assists at this point in the season and ties for 10th with Alana Glanell (2010), Jessica Huffman (1995), and Shannon Feite (1994) on SJU's all-time list for assists in a single-season.

STARTING IT UP
Eight Hawks have started all seven games thus far. The defensive unit has been consistent with everyday starters in seniors Brittany Hanrahan, Allison Heath, Kaitlyn McSwiggan, and sophomore Caroline Hagan while sophomore Genevieve Giblin has started all seven games in net. On the offensive unit, senior Val Paolucci and sophomore Emily Bowers have consistently sparked the attacking unit while junior Julia Falcone is the only midfielder to have started all seven games at this point in the season.

Saint Joseph's will return home for five of the next six games and will begin the homestand by hosting Campbell next Sunday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. The Hawks are currently 2-0 at home and have outscored their opponents 35-12.
