Box Score

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Sophomore forward Kristen Moisey scored her first career goal with 12:27 to play in the second half gave the Saint Joseph's field hockey team a 1-0 win over Davidson on Saturday afternoon in the first-ever Atlantic 10 meeting between the two sides.

Saint Joseph's (4-5 overall, 1-1 Atlantic 10) enjoyed a 7-5 advantage in shots in the first half, but the Wildcats' Emily Leytham made four saves to keep the game scoreless.

In the second half, SJU turned one of its three penalty corners into the game's lone goal.  Moisey took a pass from senior Nicole Gerdes and slotted it past Leytham for the first goal of her collegiate career.

Sophomore goalkeeper Amelia Deibler kept Davidson (1-7 overall, 0-2 Atlantic 10) off the scoreboard throughout the afternoon, making four saves for her second shutout of the season.  Leytham finished the game with nine saves for the Wildcats.

The Hawks are right back at it on Sunday afternoon when they head to Appalachian State for a noon start.
