Every Monday, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse program will highlight one member of its 2014-15 squad. Leading us into our 16th week will be sophomore defender Maggie Egan out of Glen Rock, New Jersey!
1. Why did you choose Saint Joseph's?
I chose SJU because I fell in love with the campus and because it offered a lot of opportunity, both academically and athletically.
2. What is your favorite thing about Hawk Hill?
My favorite thing about Hawk Hill is that good ol' Sweeney Field is right in the middle of campus.
3. What is your favorite place on Hawk Hill?
Big change-up but I'd have to say my bed, because if you know me well enough, I LOVE my sleep and there's nothing better than a solid nap.
4. What is the best course you've taken or are currently taking at Saint Joseph's?
The most memorable course I've probably taken was Spanish with Dr. Recio. She was just a very enthusiastic and lively teacher whom you could really tell has a lot of passion for her work.
5. What is your major at Saint Joseph's? Dream job?
Food marketing with a possible minor in English. This major is so well-known here at Hawk Hill and there are so many resources for students interested in it.
6. Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Busting a move and singing in the locker room with the squad.
7. What is your favorite thing to do while not playing lacrosse?
I'd say studying or doing homework . . . but I'd be lying to myself. Definitely napping, eating, or just hanging out with my friends.
8. What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
Junior year of high school when our team beat our high school rivals, Indian Hills.
9. Do you have any hidden talents?
I can make a shamrock with my tongue.
10. Who is your favorite professional team and athlete?
I love watching Team USA, especially in the World Cup, and Derek Jeter.
11. Who is your favorite musical artist?
Big country fan, so I love several country artists, but I also love oldies and throwbacks.
12. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
To fly: would do anything to soar like a Hawk.
13. What is your favorite food? Favorite restaurant?
Nothing like a great steak or some seafood. Kiku - you get the best of both worlds.
14. If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring with you?
1. Unlimited supply of water - gotta stay hydrated.
2. Sunscreen - so I don't fry up like a tomato or turn into one big freckle.
3. Unlimited supply of every ice cream flavor - I'd wish for that even if I wasn't stranded on an island.
15. If you could have dinner with three people, past or present, who would they be?
1. The "apparently" kid, Noah Ritter - probably would make some great dinner conversation.
2. Jack Black, who starred in School of Rock - he's just ridiculous.
3. Kristen Wiig – I admire her humor and can always find myself laughing when I watch her.
16. Who is your hero?
Nan, my grandma who lives with our family. She's played a huge role in my life.
