Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's men's soccer squad fell to La Salle, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 3-12-2 overall and 1-5-1 in the Atlantic 10.
La Salle's Andrew Connors sent in a cross that was deflected by a Hawk defender and put into SJU's net in the seventh minute of play.
For the match, La Salle (6-10-2, 2-5-1 A-10) owned a 10-8 edge in shots, including a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. Senior midfielder Tim Lazorko took a team-high three shots and landed both of SJU's shots on net (40', 85'). Junior midfielder Eric Jordan and freshman defender Eddie McCusker also took two shots apiece.
The Hawks earned a 6-2 edge in corner kicks, with three in each half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Bobby Edwards (2-9-2, 1-5-1 A-10) made three saves in a full-match effort.
The Hawks will close the 2015 season next Saturday, November 7 at home vs. St. Bonaventure. Start time on Sweeney Field in scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Prior to the start of the match, the Saint Joseph's men's soccer program will honor Lazorko and fellow senior Emmanuel Temeh.
