LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Rider (1-0) scored three first-half goals in the first 20:28 as the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team dropped its first road contest of the 2015 season, 4-0, at Ben Cohen Field on Monday evening. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 0-2. 

The Broncs scored a trio of goals in the first half (8', 17', 21') and added their fourth score in the 77th minute in the squad's season opener. 

For the match, Rider held a 14-11 edge in shots, including an 8-4 first-half advantage, while Saint Joseph's earned six of the match's nine corner kicks. The Hawks were whistled for 11 fouls while the Broncs commited just eight in comparison. 

Junior forward Mori Diane, sophomore midfielder Matt Crawford, and freshman midfielder Lou Vilotti took a team-high two shots each. Diane, Vilotti, junior midfielder Sam Irvin, and sophomore defender Tom Santilli each landed one shot on goal. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Bobby Edwards (0-1) took the loss, allowing three goals in the first 45:00. Junior goalkeeper Jay Higbee allowed one goal but made three saves in the final 45:00. 

The Hawks return to action this weekend at UNLV's Johann Memorial Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada. Saint Joseph's will face host UNLV this Friday, September 4 at 10:00 p.m. (ET) before squaring off against Utah Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
