PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team (1-1) will host San Diego State (0-2) this Saturday, February 27. Start time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field.

Saturday's game will mark the first meeting in program history between the Hawks and the Aztecs.
Saint Joseph's enters Saturday's game coming off of a 13-10 win over Monmouth on Wednesday evening; junior midfielder Maggie Egan posted a career-high eight points on three goals and a career-high five assists and added a game-high five draw controls to go with a team-high three caused turnovers. Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week Nora McCallion added five points (2g, 3a) and senior midfielder Mallory Grey contributed her first collegiate multi-goal performance (3g).
The victory snapped a nine-game losing streak dating back to March 27 of last season.
San Diego State enters Saturday's game 0-2 after losses to Elon (11-7) and, most recently, #2 North Carolina (20-7) on February 14. Kristen Hickey (3g, 3a) leads the Aztecs in scoring while goalkeepers Katie Merritt (0-2) and Katrina Reeves have split first and second halves of both games; Merritt sports a 22.00 GAA and .405 save percentage in 60:00. San Diego State went 9-8 as a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation last season.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Alex Kahoe, Saint Joseph's returns 18 Hawks, including nine starters, from last year's squad and adds eight newcomers for the 2016 season. The Hawks were picked to finish eighth in the Atlantic 10 Conference this season, according to the conference's preseason poll as announced on February 3.
