PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse squad (9-6, 5-2 A-10) will head to St. Bonaventure (3-12, 1-6 A-10) for its final road game of the season this Wednesday, April 26. Start time at the Marra Athletics Complex in St. Bonaventure, N.Y. is slated for 2:00 p.m. Despite a one-goal loss at Richmond on Sunday, the Hawks have won four of their last five while the Bonnies have dropped three straight and eight of their last nine.

Of note, this game was originally scheduled to be played on April 7 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
In returning the 2016 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year in sophomore midfielder Rebecca Lane, two A-10 First Team picks in senior attacker Nora McCallion and senior midfielder Maggie Egan, and 99.4 percent of the offense from a Hawks squad that reached the A-10 semifinals last season, Saint Joseph's was predicted to finish third in the A-10 this spring, as voted on by the league's 10 head coaches and announced on February 3. St. Bonaventure was tabbed ninth.
Saint Joseph's currently ranks fourth in the league standings behind UMass (8-0 A-10), Richmond (6-2 A-10), and George Mason (6-2), with one less game played to due the postponement of the SBU game. St. Bonaventure sits ninth. The top six teams make the A-10 postseason, to be hosted on Hawk Hill from May 4-7.
Entering Wednesday's game, the Hawks rank third in the A-10 in scoring offense, firing off 14.00 goals per game. McCallion leads the way with 2.67 scores per outing, which ranks sixth in the league. SJU's offense will go up against a St. Bonaventure defense that ranks second in the A-10 in caused turnovers per game (11.00) and the league leader in saves (175) and saves per game (11.67) in goalkeeper Morgan Conroy.

Wednesday's game will mark the 18th all-time meeting between Saint Joseph's and St. Bonaventure. The Hawks hold a 9-8 all-time series edge and are 1-1 under the direction of third-year head coach Alex Kahoe. The Hawks are averaging 17.5 goals per game against the Bonnies over the last two seasons, including a 20-9 home win in the most recent match-up last spring, where Maggie Egan (3g, 4a) and Rebecca Lane (1g, 6a) combined for 14 points on the day.

ABOUT THE HAWKSThe Hawks dropped four of their first six games of the season, with wins over American (15-7) and Cal (18-17) and losses to Temple (14-13), Villanova (11-10), San Diego State (13-12), and then-#19/16 Duke (16-10) before winning three in a row against Mount St. Mary's (12-11), Wagner (13-8), and Davidson (10-4). The Hawks suffered a 24-14 setback at UMass but went on to put up a season-high 19 scores in a 19-7 win over Duquesne. SJU then won a trio of games, including two in three days against VCU (18-17) and La Salle (15-6) before knocking off conference power George Mason, 20-10, last Friday. The Hawks enter Wednesday's game coming off of a 12-11 heartbreaking loss at Richmond on Sunday, where the Spiders scored three goals in the final 3:12 for the come-from-behind victory.
Senior attacker Nora McCallion (40g, 17a) leads the Hawks with 57 points and put up seven scores at George Mason this past weekend. Sophomore midfielder Rebecca Lane owns 55 points on 30 goals and a team-high 25 assists while freshman attacker Hope Anhut has scored 30 goals for the Crimson and Gray.
Graduate student midfielder Mallory Grey continues to be a force on both ends of the field, leading the team in draw controls (46) and ranking in SJU's top five in ground balls (23), caused turnovers (16), goals (17), assists (11), and points (28). Junior defender Kristen Kelbon went for seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers this past weekend and currently leads the team in both ground balls while she and sophomore midfield Hayley Sabol (23gb) own a team-best 19 caused turnovers. Junior midfielder Dana Garbinski (28gb, 13ct) has added to SJU's defensive efforts.
Senior Amelia Deibler (8-5, 5-2 A-10) sports a 12.04 goals against average and .413 save percentage on 373 shots faced.
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
The Bonnies (3-12, 1-6 A-10) went 2-6 in non-conference action with season-opening losses to Albany (19-3) and Niagara (18-5), a win over Army (12-11), losses to Radford (14-11) and Longwood (13-8), a win over Siena (18-13), and losses to Robert Morris (12-7) and Vermont (17-10). St. Bonaventure then dropped its first three A-10 contests to George Washington (10-9), George Mason (21-9), and Davidson (13-1) before picking up a league victory over Duquesne (13-11). The Bonnies dropped their last three to UMass (19-5), Richmond (15-1), and VCU (24-15) leading up to Wednesday's match-up with the Hawks.
Scarlet Jaworski (32g, 5a) and Taylor Fallon (25g, 11a) lead the Bonnies' offense while Morgan Conroy (3-11) sports a 14.93 goals against average and .486 save percentage in 743:42, all but 155:38 on the year.
