PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse squad (5-5, 1-1) will face Duquesne (2-8, 0-2 A-10) on Sunday afternoon at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa. Start time is slated for 1:00 p.m. Currently on a five-game losing streak, the Dukes will face George Mason at home on Friday at 4:00 p.m. before hosting the Hawks on Sunday afternoon.

NOTE: The Hawks were originally scheduled to play at St. Bonaventure on Friday afternoon, but the game was postponed due to expected snow and freezing rain. A make-up date has not been set.
In returning the 2016 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year in sophomore midfielder Rebecca Lane, two A-10 First Team picks in senior attacker Nora McCallion and senior midfielder Maggie Egan, and 99.4 percent of the offense from a Hawks squad that reached the A-10 semifinals last season, Saint Joseph's was predicted to finish third in the A-10 this spring, as voted on by the league's 10 head coaches and announced on February 3. Duquesne took the fifth spot in the poll.
Saint Joseph's offense averages 12.70 goals per game on a league-best 23.80 shots on goal per game. Sunday's game will see the Hawks face a Duquesne team that allows 16.50 goals per game and has been outscored 23-14 over the last two conference contests.
SERIES HISTORY (DUQUESNE)Sunday's game will mark the 19th all-time meeting between Saint Joseph's and Duquesne. The Dukes own a 16-2 all-time series advantage since 1999, but the Hawks snapped a six-game series losing streak with a 9-8 overtime win at home last spring, backed by a key draw control from Hayley Sabol that led to Rebecca Lane's game-winner.

ABOUT THE HAWKS
The Hawks dropped four of their first six games of the season, with wins over American (15-7) and Cal (18-17) and losses to Temple (14-13), Villanova (11-10), San Diego State (13-12), and then-#19/16 Duke (16-10) before winning three in a row against Mount St. Mary's (12-11), Wagner (13-8), and Davidson (10-4), in the season opener. The Hawks are coming off of a 24-14 loss at UMass this past Sunday.
Senior attacker Nora McCallion (24g, 11a) and sophomore midfielder Rebecca Lane (18g, 16a) lead the Hawks with 35 and 34 points, respectively, while freshman attacker Hope Anhut has scored a team-best 27 goals on the year.
Graduate student midfielder Mallory Grey has been a force on both ends of the field, leading the team in draw controls (35) and ranking in SJU's top five in ground balls (15), caused turnovers (8), goals (8), assists (7), and points (15). Junior midfielder Dana Garbinski (22gb, 11ct), sophomore midfielder Hayley Sabol (17gb, 13ct), and junior defender Kristen Kelbon (16gb, 11ct) have combined for 32% of SJU's ground balls and 38% of SJU's caused turnovers.
Senior Amelia Deibler (4-4, 1-1 A-10) has seen the last 480:00 between the pipes and sports a 13.00 goals against average and .392 save percentage on 231 shots faced.
SCOUTING DUQUESNE
The Dukes (2-8, 0-2 A-10) dropped three of their first five games of the season with losses to Penn State (19-9), Ohio State (17-5), and Canisius (23-12) and wins over Detroit (11-10) and Saint Francis (Pa.) (15-11) before dropping five in a row to UMBC (20-6), Louisville (15-6), Robert Morris (17-6), Richmond (20-4), and, most recently, VCU (13-10) this past Sunday.
Jill Vacanti (23g, 4a) and Kaelin Shaw (13g, 7a) lead the Dukes in scoring while Erin Conway has gone for 29 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Emily McMinimee (2-6, 0-2 A-10) sports a 16.50 goals against average and .311 save percentage in 370:56, while Maddy Curtis has come in as relief in both A-10 games thus far.
