Baseball Falls at George Washington, 5-1, in Season Finale

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday as the Hawks fell at George Washington, 5-1, at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park.
George Washington (30-25 overall, 14-10 Atlantic 10) went ahead in the bottom of the second as Nate Fassnacht hit a solo home run, Joey Bartosic drew a bases-loaded walk, and Andrew Selby followed with a single to give the Colonials a 3-0 lead.

Neither team scored again until Saint Joseph's broke through in the top of the seventh.  After walks to Marc Giacalone and James McConnon, Taylor Boyd ripped a single to left to get the Hawks on the board.

The Colonials answered in the bottom half, however, as Selby tripled and Cody Bryant hit a sacrifice fly to restore the three-run lead.

GW tallied again in the eighth on a single by Bryant to set the final margin.

Elliott Raimo earned the win, allowing one run on three hits in six and two-thirds innings.  Jordan DiValerio took the loss for SJU after being charged with three runs in an inning and two-thirds.

The Hawks finish the season at 21-25 overall, with a 12-12 Atlantic 10 mark.
