Box Score ST. LOUIS - The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team fell at Saint Louis, 96-73, on Sunday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.
The Hawks got a team-hight 18 points from graduate student Amanda Fioravanti as they moved to 19-9 overall and 4-2 in the Atlantic 10.
Falling behind by as many as 12 early, Saint Joseph's battled back to within four, 43-39, on a layup by Adashia Franklyn with 57 seconds to go in the second quarter.
From there though the Billikens (10-9, 4-2 A-10) took control. Using a a 19-6 run that spanned into the third quarter, Saint Louis opened a 62-45 edge on a layup by Jackie Kemph at the 4:46 mark.
The Billikens allowed the Hawks to get no closer than 14 points from there as they finished the game shooting 50.7 percent from the field (34-of-67).
For the game, Saint Joseph's shot 41.7 percent from the field (25-of-60) and 42.9 percent from three-point range (6-of-14), but hit just 17-of-33 from the foul line (51.5 percent).
Fioravanti added six rebounds and a blocked shot to go with her 18 points, while Franklyn grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and had 13 points. Junior Alyssa Monaghan finished with 13 points and seven assists, while classmate Kristalyn Baisden was the fourth Hawk in double figures with 10 points.
At the other end, Kemph led five Billikens in double figures with a game-high 21 points and 13 assists. Saint Louis hit just 6-of-18 from behind the arc, but went 22-of-27 from the foul line for 81.5 percent.
Saint Joseph's returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Duquesne at 7 p.m.
