ABOUT THE HAWKS
• Saint Joseph's returns home to begin a seven-game homestand starting Tuesday night against Niagara.
• The Hawks are looking for their first win of the young season after falling at Penn last Thursday, 65-45.
• Freshman Katie Mayock led the Hawks with a career-best 11 points.
• Thursday was the season debut for graduate student Avery Marz, senior Kristalyn Baisden and freshman Devyne Newman.
• Tuesday will be just the second ever meeting with the Purple Eagles. The Hawks won the inaugural matchup, 93-69, at the Gallagher Center to open the 2017-18 season.
• In that game, Alyssa Monaghan matched the SJU program record for three-point accuracy, going 7-of-7 from behind the arc, and finished the day 8-of-8 from the field for 23 points.
• Tuesday also marks a homecoming as the Hawks welcome back Niagara head coach, and former SJU assistant coach, Jada Pierce. A member of Cindy Griffin's staff for three seasons (2012-15), Pierce helped the Hawks to a pair of NCAA appearances and an Atlantic 10 title (2013) before accepting the position of head coach for the Purple Eagles.

THE ROAD TO 1,000
Senior Alyssa Monaghan is nearing the 1,000-point plateau for her career. A four-year starter, Monaghan would become the 27th Hawks to reach 1,000 career points. She enters Tuesday with 853 points.

IN THE FAMILY
For freshman Katie Mayock Saint Joseph's basketball has been part of her family for some time. Making her collegiate debut against Temple with eight points and two blocked shots, Mayock joined her mother, Alix Burns, in wearing the Crimson and Gray. Burns was a four-year standout for SJU from 1985-89, helping the Hawks to four-straight NCAA appearances and two Big 5 titles.

NEXT UP
• Saint Joseph's hosts the 2018 Hawk Classic this upcoming weekend, November 24-25. The Hawks open play with Rider at noon on Saturday, with Boston College facing Loyola Maryland to round out the tournament bracket.
