The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team picked up where it left off last year, winning the Varsity 8 and the Second Varsity 8 at the annual Murphy Cup on March 31 on the Schuylkill River.

The Hawks outdistanced Drexel and Marist in winning the Varsity 8 raced while finishing ahead of Drexel and Michigan in the Second Varsity 8.
The Varsity 8 consisted of: c- Jenn Reynolds; 8- Jack Darling; 7- Riley McGwin; 6- Garren Best; 5- Kjel Schlemmer; 4- Thomson Rymer; 3- Claudio Recchilungo; 2- Devin Swech; 1- Dave Gee, while the Second Varsity 8 boat was: c- Fiona Conway; 8- Justin Hawkins; 7 James Hammerstedt; 6- Justin Aikens; 5- Joe Sullivan; 4- Collin Seabrook; 3- Gavin O'Connor; 2- Mike Geoghegan; 1- Andrew O'Connor 

Saint Joseph's also garnered second place in the Third Varsity 8 with a lineup of: c- Courtney McDonnell; 8- Jason Peacock; 7- Rob McCullough; 6- Josh Bostrom; 5- Collin Petersen; 4- Jack Yeager; 3- Jansen Kachel; 2- John Thompson; 1- Mike Fedele

The Hawks will be back in action in two weeks on April 14 at the Kerr Cup.
