How It Happened
• George Washington took five shots in the first half, landing two on goal, but Saint Joseph's sophomore goalkeeper Joseph Boehm (5-10-1, 1-5-0 A-10) made the pair of stops just 67 seconds apart (16:11, 17:18) to keep the Colonials off the scoreboard through the first 45:00.
• GW's Haukur Hilmarsson took a shot from the top of the 18' after a deflection in the box and fired the ball off of the hands of a diving Boehm for the match's first goal (61').
• Freshman centerback Alex Hartmann landed SJU's lone shot on goal for the match (71'), on a header saved by GW's goalkeeper Noah Lubin.
• Just minutes after subbing onto the pitch as a tactical substitute for Hartman, senior midfielder Dontrim Namani got hit with a straight red card following a physical play with GW (74').Â
• Saint Joseph's played with 10 men for the final 16:14, and GW capitalized by scoring its second goal, off the foot of Alhaji Turay (78').
