Saint Joseph's leads the A-10 and ranks 22nd nationally in scoring defense, allowing an average of just 55.8 ppg.

The Hawks were predicted to finish 10th in the A-10 this year, according to the 2019-20 A-10 Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll conducted by the league's 14 head coaches and announced on October 29, while La Salle was picked to finish 14th.

Saint Joseph's is 49-11 all-time against La Salle and has won seven of the last eight meetings dating back to January 14, 2017, and 21 of the last 23 meetings dating back to February 19, 2006. Earlier this season, the Hawks fell to the Explorers, 67-59, on January 26. Sophomore guard Katie Jekot (16 points) and freshman guard Kaliah Henderson (14 points) combined for 30 points.

Last time out, Jekot scored seven consecutive points to close the Hawks' deficit to nine, 49-40, with 4:21 to play, but SJU fell short against Duquesne, 53-42, in Atlantic 10 action at La Roche University on Sunday, February 9.
